Bilans GES - GHG assessment

Type:
Where is this support available:

Bilans GES is an on-line resource centre with information, guides, database and tools on greenhouse gases (GHG) assessment and reduction.

It enables companies to provide a GHG inventory; the quantity emitted (or captured) by an organisation or territory over one year of activity. The emissions are classified according to predefined categories which helps to identify those with the greatest carbon impact and thus where action is most needed.

Investment support for 'green' heating

Type:
Where is this support available:

This programme is available mainly for companies and local authorities, and covers investment support for renewable energy heating installations, in particular from biomass, deep geothermal heating, waste-heat and biomethane production. Companies benefiting from other subsidies like renewable energy certificates are not eligible, and only extra costs compared to more traditional technologies are subsidised; at a rate of between 20 % and 65 %, depending on the type of company and installation.

Green electricity certificates

Support Programme

Green electricity certificates

Type:
Where is this support available:

The owners of renewable energy installations (solar panels, wind mills, biomass installations) receive 'certificates' from the Flemish government. Those certificates can be sold to electricity providers who are obliged to offer consumers a growing share of renewables in the mix. The providers are allowed to buy the certificates instead of actually producing all the renewable energy themselves. Certificates can also be sold to the distributors directly at an agreed minimum price.
