The Flemish Enterprise and Innovation Agency (VLAIO) offers companies individual energy screening (energy scan) via contracted professional energy consultancies.

SMEs can order the free energy scan through the KEEP project with optional implementation advice following up on the recommended energy measures. Owners of accommodation and tourist attractions can order the service through the KOALA project.

SME Energy Guide offers insights and tips to help businesses decrease their energy use.

With the benchmarking calculator, a company can quickly find out whether it consumes more than average for the relevant sector. The data provided is anonymous and secure. Once the benchmark is established, the saving tool helps to identify which measures are best suited to help the company save energy by calculating the investment cost, payback time and CO2 savings. The tool also showcases good practices in energy savings by other companies.

Packaging consumes around 5 % of the energy needed during a product's life cycle. Pack4Ecodesign is a free online toolbox to help professionals design better, more eco-friendly packaging. In particular, the tool calculates the environmental impact of specific packaging materials used in terms of greenhouse gas contributions, water and energy consumption, and provides tips to address these concerns.

Pack4Recycling is an easy-to-use tool for assessing whether the packaging is recyclable or not. It also provides tips for improving the recylability through ‘design for recycling’ principles and other measures which help minimise the overall environmental impact of packaging.

Ecodesign tool for product designers to calculate the environmental impact of their product, both as a whole and for each step in the life cycle. The ecolizer tool takes into account the environmental impact (in 19 indicators) of the used materials, processes, packaging and transport.  All this information is reduced to one clear environmental score.
