Sustainability programme for graduates: a win-win initiative
In 2023, the cluster Confindustria Emilia Area Centro started an annual graduate programme in which young professionals get to contribute to member companies’ sustainability transitions. The 10-month paid graduate program is focused on training graduates in sustainability management, innovation strategies, and the EU project funding landscape. It offers over 1,200 hours of training, blending classroom learning, hands-on fieldwork, and engagement with partner companies.
Upon acceptance, the graduates receive a fixed-term contract and benefit from immersive learning designed to prepare them for high-demand roles in sustainability and innovation. Key aspects include:
- 460 hours of classroom training
- 150 hours of company-based activities
- 600 hours of fieldwork experience
During the first three months, the graduates receive training provided by experienced cluster staff. This is followed by assignments on how to implement sustainability strategies, manage corporate innovation, and navigate EU funding programs. As a last step, the cluster matches the graduates with interested member companies.
