S3 Partnership - HEGAN Basque Aerospace Cluster

HEGAN is a private, non-profit association that groups together the Basque Aeronautics and Space sector, created with the aim of fostering, promoting and stimulating the same. As a Cluster Association, its aim is to represent and promote this sector to ensure its competitiveness in short, medium and long-term through co-operation and innovation among companies and other agents, as a response to its strategic challenges in cooperation. www.hegan.aero

In the last years the HEGAN participated in the European Aerospace Cluster Partnership-EACP http://www.eacp-aero.eu/ and in several European strategic partnerships, such as ESCP and the cluster excellence call. Furthermore, we have strong links with other sectors such as: Machine Tool, Advanced Manufacturing, Logistics, ICTs, Environment. This time the Expressions of Interest for a European Strategic Cluster Partnership S3 aims at bringing about the means to give continuity to the labels they had received beforehand. The new label will help to carry on our joint work in a continous strategy setting, the road-map and the drum-beat to improve the partners' quality of cluster management. In addition to the other labels, this one can help us to focus on several regional strategies, underline the joint interest and help us to discuss and enable the network to define a possible joint European smart specialisation strategy.

The cluster organisations listed below are members of the EACP, which is a loose network of currently 40 aerospace clusters from 15 countries. We are working on a level of mutual trust while maintaining the idea that everyone's additional input to the network brings out even more benefits for each partner.
