S3 partnership - Advanced Manufacturing


EMC2 is the French industrial cluster dedicated to advanced manufacturing technologies. Located in the western part of France, we gather 350 members (among which 150 SMEs) and promote a cross-fertilization and multi-sectorial approach in various market: aeronautics, industrial equipment goods, shipbuilding, ground transportation, energy and nautical. Since 2005 we promotes investment in innovation that will ensure the future of a strong manufacturing sector, crucial component of an economic prosperity. EMC2 defines technological priorities and coordinates high-pay-off collaborative innovation projects. To do so, EMC2 create synergies between large international groups, small and medium-sized companies, research laboratories and training. It provides a wide range of services in order to turn innovation into new processes and products and speed up the industrialization of research outcome for companies’ growth and competitiveness. EMC2 is a gold label cluster, the label acknowledges cluster organisations that demonstrate highly sophisticated cluster management and that are committed to further improve their organisational structures and routines for the benefit of an even higher performance.

The partnering process that will be initiated by this call will lead to preparatory actions towards the establishment and shaping of European Strategic Cluster Partnerships. The Partnerships shall have the ultimate objective to prepare and present joint business cooperation projects for co-investments in innovation through common concrete activities, such as:

•strategy-setting and road mapping for Advanced manufacturing

•virtual and physical matchmaking activities among partners and their SMEs,

•demonstration and pilot projects,

•shaping business concepts into viable and bankable proposals for investments.
