Tèxtils.CAT hosts international delegation to network on textile sustainability and smart textiles

Tèxtils.CAT, the Catalan Cluster of Advanced Textile Materials, welcomed an incoming textile delegation from across Europe to showcase successful case studies of green transition and smart products made in Catalonia and to facilitate international networking among the cluster and the visitors.

This action was framed within the newly stablished CIRCULAR hub by Tèxtils.CAT to foster visibility of Catalan solutions and boost international networking for the cluster. During the 2 days event, an international delegation visited 2 flagship cluster members: ANTEX, leader in sustainable innovation on manufacturing of synthetic yarns and SENSING TEX, industry leader developing end to end solutions based on its own patented technology for smart textiles.

On the second day, the focus was on networking and building synergies among the cluster members and the international delegation through a dedicated workshop on foresight strategy co-creation and speed dating. Tèxtils.CAT organized a day-event in Esferic Barcelona with over 40 participants between cluster members and international participants.

The incoming delegation composed of 20 participants from industry and research came from 5 European countries including Germany, Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, and Italy.

Tèxtils.CAT counted with the technical support from the Textile ETP, through the SmartX Innovation Hub where the cluster is a co-host, and IVGT for bringing a delegation from German technical textile companies, as well as financial support from the European Commission through In Transit and ZeroF projects.

The cluster facilitated networking among the In Transit targeted ecosystems to foster cross-sectoral collaborations and opportunities that can address the current call for proposals that has funding opportunities of 1,4M€ directed to SMEs.

These kinds of activities are fully aligned with the cluster strategy to foster innovation and networking as core priorities to make the sector more resilient and improve the competitiveness of its members. Promotion of sustainability and networking are also core elements of the CIRCULAR Hub recently launched by Tèxtils.CAT as a vehicle to drive the green transition in the textile sector.
