During Business Meetings 2024, our annual event held on 19 November 2024, we were proud to announce and unveil our new name and identity. We are now AKTANTIS! 
 
AKTANTIS, a (r)evolution symbolising a new era  

From now on, SCS will be known as AKTANTIS, as a result of a merger of the SCS and Optitec clusters. AKTANTIS is the symbol of a new start, the beginning of a new cycle. The choice of the name AKTANTIS expresses the cluster’s vocation: to guide and orient its members in a constantly evolving technological environment, just like the star Sigma Octantis, which serves as a landmark in the southern sky. 
This new identity is the concrete expression of the cluster’s expanding geographical horizons and technological fields. Extending from the Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region to the Occitanie region, AKTANTIS covers all deep-tech technologies: micro/electronics, AI/data analytics, IoT, digital cyber/security and photonics & imaging. The growth of AKTANTIS is based on the development potential and innovative projects of its more than 300 members. 

At the dawn of 2025, we are opening a new chapter in our history, but our core objectives remain unchanged:  « By strengthening the support and development of its members, AKTANTIS aims to continue the growth of a leading deeptech ecosystem in the Southern Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur and Occitanie regions. Together, under the name of AKTANTIS, we will pave the way for a promising and sustainable technological future. », Fabien Aili, Chairman of AKTANTIS.
