Montreal, Canada, played host to the ECCP Matchmaking event from September 10th to 12th, 2024, where industry leaders from Europe and Canada came together to explore collaboration opportunities. Nanoprogress, a prominent Czech organization, was an active participant, making significant strides in expanding its international network and fostering cooperation with key players in the tech and innovation sectors.

The business mission was organized by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), with the first day focused on connecting European clusters and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with their Canadian counterparts. The morning agenda featured site visits to several renowned innovation hubs in Montreal, giving participants, including Nanoprogress, the opportunity to witness firsthand the cutting-edge advancements taking place in artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation.

The afternoon sessions were dedicated to pre-arranged B2B meetings, where Nanoprogress had productive discussions with various Canadian and European organizations. These meetings allowed the representative from Nanoprogress to explore potential partnerships with Canadian tech leaders such as Tengiva, Deep Tech Canada, Scale AI, Vooban, and Makila AI, as well as European counterparts from Bioeconomy Cluster Finland, Nanonet, and Digital 113. These engagements laid the foundation for future collaboration, with a focus on fostering innovation and shared growth.

Throughout the event, Nanoprogress actively contributed to discussions on digital transformation, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence—key themes of the conference. The matchmaking event also allowed the Czech organization to present its unique capabilities and goals to a wider audience, including clusters and companies operating in similar or complementary fields.

The second and third days of the event included the ALL IN Forum, a gathering that featured panels and presentations on the future of digital technologies.  In addition to the formal sessions, Nanoprogress participated in informal networking events, which further facilitated connections with fellow delegates and VIP participants of the ALL IN conference.

One of the highlights of the event for Nanoprogress was a meeting with representatives of the Czech Embassy in Canada, Marino Radačič and Alex Journaux. During this meeting, Nanoprogress presented its cluster and outlined potential collaboration avenues for expanding Czech businesses into the Canadian market. The discussion proved fruitful, with plans for future joint activities already in motion. This exchange demonstrated the value of governmental support in facilitating international business expansion and highlighted the embassy's role in promoting Czech innovation abroad.

The evening networking programs, which were part of the broader ALL IN event, provided additional opportunities for informal discussions and collaboration. As part of the European delegation, Nanoprogress representatives had the chance to interact with peers and industry leaders in a relaxed setting, deepening connections established earlier in the event.

The overarching aim of the ECCP Matchmaking event was to create a space for collaboration across industries, focusing on key technological advancements and global challenges. For Nanoprogress, the event served as an ideal platform to enhance its international presence, explore synergies, and contribute to visionary discussions on the future of AI and digital transformation.

In summary, the participation of Nanoprogress in the ECCP Matchmaking event in Montreal was a resounding success. The organization not only forged valuable connections with Canadian and European partners but also reinforced the importance of collaboration in addressing the challenges and opportunities of the digital age. With new partnerships on the horizon and plans for further international cooperation, Nanoprogress continues to solidify its role as a leader in fostering innovation and global collaboration.
