HAPI-E - Holistic Assessment Performance Index for the Environment
The HAPI-E methodology is a software-based tool that calculates the integrated environmental footprint of a business using multi-criteria data analysis, which can be compared with competitive companies in specific economic sectors.
This holistic index incorporates all aspects of the company‘s performance collected through a questionnaire. The main subjects (level 1 criteria) of the tool are divided into general questions, administrative actions and decisions, waste management and recycling, energy management, greenhouse gas emissions, and water resources management.
Depending on the requirements of each case, specific sub-criteria (level 2) are generated and a two-stage multi-criteria decision methodology quantifies the answers, calculates the weighting, and delivers a single performance index as a company baseline for future improvements.
HAPI-E also acts as a diagnostic tool for benchmarking resource efficiency and environmental performance across sectors and organisations.
