The course on sustainability in the company of the IEF and Caixa d'Enginyers ends

On July 18, the closing day of the course "Sustainability and the company: Practical application guide" took place. CSR implementation strategies and ESG criteria", promoted by the Institute of Financial Studies and Caixa d'Enginyers with the collaboration of the Packaging Cluster and the CEEC.

The training, aimed at financial directors and managers of SMEs, has had the participation of twenty professionals from the sector, including prominent financial directors and executive managers of companies in the energy and packaging sectors. During the session, Caixa Enginyers' Director of Institutional Banking Catalonia-Balearic Islands, Eduard Barcons, spoke about the role of sustainable finance in the development of the energy transition. Barcons referred to the concept of shared value, a business model that combines high competitiveness with the socio-economic development of the territory.

He also used the Caixa d'Enginyers Group as an example to talk about the socially responsible banking model that should allow social agents to take on the challenges of the present and future. A training adapted to the needs of the current context At a time like now, when sustainability and corporate social responsibility are key values in the business field, the course has become a key tool for professionals in the sector, offering them a complete tour of the basic concepts of sustainability , focusing on its importance and application in the daily management of a company. It has been especially relevant for department heads and managers who currently need to comply with the new regulations and prepare sustainability reports.

The training, structured in 6 sessions of 2 hours each, has focused on topics that are in full force for the incorporation of sustainability in the company, such as the implementation of ESG criteria, the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and strategies for their practical application or the importance of sustainable finance.

Finally, the organizers handed out certificates to the more than 20 professionals who took part in this training. Then, both the Packaging Cluster and the CEEC have enabled a space for networking where their members have been able to make contact and lay the foundations for new commercial relationships.
