Overview

The Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is a non-profit Foundation, and one of the centres of the CERCA Institution. Its Patrons are the Generalitat de Catalunya, CSIC (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. It was created with the founding objective of becoming a world-renowned centre for nanoscience and nanotechnology research. Its mission is to achieve scientific and technological excellence in these fields. All its human and economic resources are dedicated to achieving this mission. We do so by incubating new fundamental knowledge and ideas, and facilitating the adoption and integration of nanotechnologies into society and industry. To this end, research at ICN2 encompasses: (i) Basic science, primarily via European and national collaborative projects, including frontier areas, and (ii) Technology: in areas of in-house expertise and in conjunction with industry. Therefore, ICN2 interacts closely with universities, research… • Microscopes
